Before you "talked my ear off" (which is kind of you to say, but it was a fascinating dialog), You simply read me the phrase and gave me the time to think about it:

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul.” It comes from the Gospel of Matthew, 10:28.

Which, at first glance, seems like "sticks and stones... words will never hurt me" but then it leaps out at you like Bilbo to the ring in Rivendell: Fear them which try to kill the soul.

Who and what tries to kill the soul?

I don’t think there is anything good that tries to kill the soul- Only the absolute most Evil of evil - But the other question to ask is What or Who helps the soul triumph over such atrocities???

The master class has always taken it as their job to interfere with the common mans heart connection to Source. The common man, however doesn't seem to realize that their job is to cultivate and refine that connection. In my opinion, past efforts have failed because they are attempted under the rubric of a false model of reality. That being our split model where the spiritual and the physical are assumed to be fundamentally different.

I was actually writing a post while you were writing this comment (apparently), and that connection you mention has occupied my mind for weeks now. I get into a bit in what I'm about to publish.
