I got to the computer yesterday by way of Stephen Harrod Buhner’s Ensouling Language, a book I am still s-l-o-w-l-y making my way through (and now that I’ve shared it with Dennis, it’s often in his office, where I don’t see it to pick it up and read; but I’m not complaining; I am thrilled to share it with him and thrilled that he, too, is finding it profound).
It's tough to write a comment like "nice" or "well said" without it coming across as trite and flippant. So I'll just talk with you, as I have that privilege.
For the record, the ex-boyfriend thing wasn't quite as awkward as when, some twenty years later we ran into him up here in Maine, and he invited us to visit their lake house (all of five miles away) where his wife felt the full-awkward. I'm sure he had a pleasant end to his long summer weekend. Well, we never need to do that again!

Thank God.
